Coast Lawyer Attends Three-Day
Conference on Estate Planning
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss., Feb. 25, 2008 -- R. Scott Wells, a partner
with Rushing & Guice, P.L.L.C., recently attended a three-day
conference on “Advanced Estate Planning Techniques,”
sponsored by the American Law Institute – American Bar Association
(ALI-ABA).
Wells has practiced law since he graduated from Tulane University
in 1990. A Biloxi native and graduate of Ocean Springs High School,
he returned to the Coast in 1994 and began practicing with Rushing
& Guice. His primary areas of practice involve estate planning,
corporate law, creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, commercial
litigation and personal injury.
Designed for experienced trust and estate practitioners, the conference
included sessions on recent and proposed legislation, changing regulations
and other important new developments related to estate planning.
“Without proper planning, estates may be substantially consumed
by taxes and costs associated with probate and spark squabbles between
heirs that can last generations. But with some forethought, our
clients can have peace of mind about their estates and work through
issues in advance so their wishes and goals are achieved,”
Wells said. “Attending this conference is part of Rushing
& Guice’s commitment to stay current on the latest issues
and provide expert legal counsel to our clients.”
