Scott Wells
Attorney R. Scott Wells is an exceptional litigator representing a
diverse clientele. A partner at Rushing & Guice, P.L.L.C.,
Wells focuses his practice on corporate law, creditors' rights in
bankruptcy, commercial litigation, estate planning, real estate and
personal injury.
A native of Biloxi, Wells graduated as valedictorian from Ocean Springs
High School in 1984 and then attended Tulane University where he
received his Bachelor of Arts in history with honors in 1988. He
participated in Tulane's joint BA/JD degree program and obtained his
Juris Doctorate with honors from Tulane University in 1990.
While at Tulane, Wells served as an Administrative Justice on the Moot
Court Board from 1989 to 1990 and was a member of the Moot Court Board
beginning in 1988.
Upon graduating from law school in 1990, Wells moved to Baton Rouge,
La., and practiced law there until 1994, at which time he returned to
Biloxi and joined Rushing & Guice, P.L.L.C. In 2002, Wells
became a member of the firm.
He was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1990 and the Mississippi Bar in
1992 and has been admitted to all of the United States District Courts
in both states, as well as the United States Fifth Circuit Court of
Appeals.
Wells has served as a board member in the local Chamber of Commerce and
Civitan organizations and is active in other organizations such as the
local bar associations. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy
Institute, the Mississippi Bankruptcy Conference, the Mississippi Bar,
the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the
Harrison County Bar Association, the Jackson County Bar Association,
the Biloxi Bar Association, Baton Rouge Bar Association, and many other
local service and social groups.
