The law firm of Rushing
& Guice, P.L.L.C. has been named one of the "Best Places to
Work in Mississippi" by the Mississippi Business Journal.
The firm received the second
place honor in the small business category during an awards ceremony
January 14th at the Mississippi Business & Technology EXPO in
Jackson.
"We are honored to be
recognized as an excellent place of business in Mississippi," said
William L. Guice III, senior partner with the 100-year-old law firm.
"This firm has a strong commitment to providing a quality workplace,
one in which the entire staff is dedicated to providing the best
service to our clients."
Awarded by the Mississippi
Business Journal and the Southern Research Group, the Best
Places to Work program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the
companies with cohesive policies and practices that lead employees to
want to work for the company. Winners in each category are selected
based on results from the online employee survey administered by
Southern Research Group.
The program, which made its
Mississippi debut in 2006, recognizes companies' best practices used in
outstanding workplaces. Companies are evaluated based on their
employees' responses about corporate culture, values, vision,
communication, teamwork, job satisfaction, training, learning and
development, and performance and recognition.
Sandy Seymour, one of the
firm's legal assistants, initially nominated the firm for the award. In
her nomination, she noted the firm's steadfast commitment to its
employees after Hurricane Katrina devastated its main offices in Biloxi
and its ongoing community outreach efforts.
"I nominated Rushing &
Guice because it actually is the best place I have worked," Seymour
said. "There is a special camaraderie between the partners and staff
that makes me look forward to coming to work each day. I have been with
Rushing & Guice five years and hope to be here when I retire."
Rushing & Guice and
other companies that were recognized for their excellence will be
featured in an upcoming edition of the Mississippi Business
Journal.
